Steve Evans is publicly dying of cancer.
I publicly fought locked-in on my Facebook page – Beating locked in syndrome, still campaign on my Fighting Strokes page & Twitter account.
His views in his Twitter community are SO much the same as my views on social media generally! It is such a POWERFUL support medium.
Funny, eloquent, self-deprecating man, who epitomises the dignity, dark & light shades of being a human-being, towards of the end of his tunnel (as his cancer, quickly sucks the life out of him. )
How utterly poignant are his words,
‘those who are and have been going through what you are, can only truly understand.. not the person on the other end of the phone.’ AGREED
This, by the way, is why Steve Evans, loves Twitter.
‘All alone in his hospital bed at night, when the nurses often ignore him and his loved-ones are at home, he has Twitter people to support him through.’ Gosh, so many parallels!
THIS MAN IS A BEACON OF LIGHT TO CANCER SURVIVORS & sufferers…(& stroke survivors too.)
The feelings we all feel with the severe and dreadful illnesses we are unlucky to have to endure, through no fault of our own, from cancer to stroke to limb loss to spinal injury to severe mental illness to motor neurone to MS, etc…

The illnesses, and outcomes, may be different but our shared sense of fears, worries, anxieties, lows, highs, motivators, needs etc ARE SO SIMILAR !
We can all learn so much from him.
